We had a great day yesterday photographing Aine and Alex Wedding and here are a few photographs of the day. It was a joy to work in The Redemptorist Church and Ballymascanlon Hotel with a great couple. Its just great to do a job that you love.

Weddng of Maria O Dwyer & Barry Cassidy 24th October 2009

On Saturday I had the pleasure in photographing Maria and Barry on their special day. Maria and her dad walked down the aisle to the beautiful voice of Ruth Brady singing Romance. The church continued to be filled with music throught the ceremony.

Once outside Barry was keen to try out some of the motorbikes in the church grounds .. lol...

The Ballymascanlon House Hotel was the venue for the reception. Wet and windy weather made it impossible to take any photographs outside on the grounds but the gorgeous interior of the hotel gave me plenty to work with.

Maria looks fantastic in this close up shot taken in one of the sitting rooms at the Ballymac.

Siobhan, Kelly and Fiona were a great help throughout the photographs and good fun was had by all.

The gorgeous gardens of the hotel can be seen in the background while the newly married couple cut the wedding cake.

May I wish Maria and Barry all the best for their future lives together. I look forward to choosing the perfect album for them when they return from honeymoon.

IPPA October Conference in the Ballymac Hotel 2009

On Sunday 4th and Monday 5th of October I hosted the IPPA October Conference at the Ballymascanlon House Hotel in Dundalk. This was a huge event not only for the IPPA as they celebrated their 60th Anniversary , but also for me personally as this event was hosted in my home town .

There were over 100 people in attendance at the Gala Dinner on the Sunday night and we had a full house for all the seminars. We had guest speakers from America and Bratislava as well as the UK. The Presidents of the Master Photographers Assoc. (UK), the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and the Federation of European Photographers (FEP) were also in attendance . It was a fantastic weekend and the feedback about the Ballymac from all who attended was brilliant.

I was awarded an Honary Life Membership of the IPPA, for all my work for the association. I am still in shock!! It was totally unexpected and a great honour to receive.

Vinnie O Byrne, who is a personal friend as well as President of the MPA presented me with my award.

The presentation was all the sweeter because my children were there to help me celebrate and celebrate we did...lol
